President Jacob Zuma says a commission of inquiry will uncover the real cause of the deadly violence at Lonmin’s Marikana platinum mine in North West.
Thirty-four workers were killed on Thursday and 78 wounded when police opened fire on thousands of striking workers who refused to disperse.
Zuma returned from a regional summit in Mozambique yesterday to attend to the tragedy.
He said the shocking deaths were unacceptable in a country with a democracy everyone envies.
