Twenty-two men will appear in Western Cape courts on Monday for poaching charges after two-thousand-nine-hundred units of abalone were seized over the last two days in three separate incidents.
Eight men were arrested by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Protection Vessel-team early this morning while diving for abalone at Robben Island.
Meanwhile fourteen others will appear before a Hermanus magistrate.
They were arrested for poaching at Gansbaai yesterday.
