Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande says he is concerned that universities will become a law unto themselves.
That’s after a Bloemfontein High Court judgement in favour of Free State’s Central University of Technology.
It that found that the Department of Education had acted unlawfully in putting the university under administration.
Nzimande further stated that although they respect the judgement of the judge and judiciary, it’s concerning in that it could be saying students can do as they please without being held responsible for their actions.
