68 buses removed from Gauteng roads
21 September 2012
Andiswa Mkosi
The Road Traffic Management Corporation’s National Traffic Police has this week removed 68 buses from Gauteng’s roads.
The most common defects were worn tyres, faulty brakes and steering mechanisms and excessive smoke and oil leaks.
The continuing operation will focus on learner transport vehicles, commuter buses, tourist shuttles, mini-bus taxis, luxury coaches, cross border buses and metered taxis.
Commuters are urged to report bad driving and un-roadworthy vehicles.
