The Eastern Cape Department of Health is trying to convince a family of a man who died on Tuesday to have his body taken to the mortuary.

The family in Tsolo near Umtata claims that the deceased before he died he told family members that he would be resurrected after two days.

Health Provincial Spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said the neighbours are now complaining of the smell coming out of the house.

Kupelo added that a team of health officials, police and forensic workers have been sent visit the family to convince them that the body needed to be properly disposed of.
