Tributes are pouring in for former heavyweight South African and world boxing champion Corrie Saunders.

He was killed on Saturday night in an armed robbery at a restaurant near Brits in North West.

Saunders was shot in the stomach and later died of his injuries.

The 46-year-old champion had been attending his nephew’s 21st birthday party.

One of his best friends, the singer Kurt Darren, says Sanders was very active in the Shout anti-crime campaign.
