The Democratic Alliance says the threats uttered by expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema to make mines ungovernable will result in job losses.
Spokesperson James Lorimer says diminished investments caused by this action will mean less inflow of new money that mining constantly requires to maintain itself and to grow.
Lorimer says there are currently 500-thousand people employed in the country's mining industry. He adds that Malema’s utterances are self-serving and destructive.
