Kevin Pietersen wants position back

With the fourth One-Day International between the Proteas and England having started at Lord’s, controversial former England batsman Kevin Pietersen is believed to be trying to regain his position in the team.

The former South African met with England team director Andy Flower yesterday.

Pietersen was kicked out after derogatory SMS messages emerged that he had sent to Proteas players about recently retired England captain Andrews Strauss.

Reports from London say several senior England players are resisting his return.
