Mantashe says ANC is under attack

ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe says the party is under attack from disillusioned members and Cosatu often aligns itself with the views of those members.
Mantashe was reacting to the trade union federation’s political report, presented to its congress in Midrand, Gauteng.
The secretary general is quoted as saying the report was trying to drive a wedge between the ANC and its members by saying that it was preoccupied with the second phase of its transition.
Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi said yesterday that the ruling party was increasingly wracked by factionalism, patronage and corruption.
