Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile says a new generation of leaders must be brought in.
He was speaking at the ANC Youth League's 68th anniversary celebrations in Thembelihle in Lenasia, Johannesburg
Mashtile also wants radical policies to be adopted at the conference.
He told the Youth League the future of the country was in their hands.
The crowd sang songs supporting Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula.
