Andiswa Mkosi
25 September 2012
Former human rights activist Barney Pityana has criticised South African voters who slavishly follow the ANC.
He says in his opinion, the party has repeatedly dishonoured its election pacts.
Pityana spoke at a lecture to honour the anti-apartheid activist Neil Aggett in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape.
He is quotesd as saying South Africans only have themselves to blame for the problems with the education system, a collapsing healthcare system, a bloated but inefficient civil service, pervasive crime, and corruption that has become endemic.
