Special school of skills opened in Cape Town

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille and Education MEC Donald Grant today officially opened the Riebeeck Valley Special School of Skills.

The Riebeeck Valley Special School is one of 18 Schools of Skills in the province.

Department Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said Schools of Skills are extremely valuable as they provide important educational opportunities for those learners whose educational needs cannot be met in mainstream schools.

Casey said this school will focus on various study fields, from hospitality, building and construction and personal care skills.

 Casey added that in this province there are about seven-thousand learners who involved at eighteen skills schools.
