The Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has sent their condolences to the families of the three KwaZulu-Natal farmers who died in a light aircraft crash near Nagle Dam on Thursday.

The farmers who died in the accident were Jannie Boshoff, Jannie Kemp and Theuns van Rensburg.

The Committee Chairperson Lulu Johnson said this loss is not only for the three families because Agri South Africa (AgriSA) has lost valuable members as well.

The three farmers were the leaders of Kwanalu, an affiliate of Agri South Africa and were coming from a congress which was held in Pietermaritzburg.

Johnson said they were the mentors to emerging farmers.
