Train schedules in Cape Town have normalised after police evacuated commuters and staff.

Police also searched the Maitland train station following a bomb care.

Metrorail said there has been a worrying rise in the number of bomb threats over the past four months.

Metrorail Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swartz said they have an idea of who the culprits may be, but cannot make allegations at this stage.
