The tendered were reportedly rewared to members of Friends of the Youth League who are close to Malema.
Brigade chairperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa says the university confirmed that in July last year it awarded a tender of almost 28-million-Rands for the conversion of a gymnasium into a laboratory to Collins Foromo.
He is understood to have once been Malema’s driver.
