North West police say four Lonmin workers have been arrested in connection with killings around the Marikana hostels.

The suspects were in a vehicle returning from the Farlam Commission when police arrested them on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Thulani Ngubane denied that the mineworkers were arrested because they were supposed to testify at the commission.

Meanwhile, two miners charged with killing a NUM official were denied bail in the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
