Man arrested in connection with murder

A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of two police officers in Hout Bay , Cape Town.

Western Cape police commissioner Arno Lamoer told the media today that a 28-year-old man was arrested and would appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

The two constables were fatally shot while on patrol in Imizamo Yethu Township on Friday night.

Lamoer says since the start of April, there had been more than 150 attacks on police officers in the line of duty, through shooting, stoning and assault.
