New initiative for SA cancer awareness

The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg will turn bright pink for the next week.

For the next seven nights the bridge will be lit pink as part of breast cancer awareness month celebrated worldwide every October.

The initiative involves illuminating notable landmarks in pink all over the world to call attention to early detection of breast cancer.

Natasha Bennett a company representative said they initiated the project in South Africa to raise awareness about the early detection of cancer.
