A meeting to
discuss an out of court settlement for the Lenasia demolition case has been
scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
Plans of a settlement between the Human Rights Commission and the Gauteng Local Government and Housing Department emerged in the South Gauteng High Court.
It was also decided
that there will be no further demolitions after more than 80 structures built
on government owned land were demolished over the past two weeks.
Julius Malema has questioned the Gauteng Local Government and housing department’s plans to build low cost houses on illegally sold land in Lenasia.
This is not a place
where you can build RDP houses this is just a fallacy which is meant to buy
public sympathy by government.

Julius Malema has questioned the Gauteng Local Government and housing department’s plans to build low cost houses on illegally sold land in Lenasia.
Malema inspected
the area on Friday and said there is no way that the disputed land was
earmarked for low cost housing.
Cosatu's Dumisani
Dakile raised the same point when a delegation from the trade union federation
inspected the area on Thursday.
