Premier Thandi Modise’s statement follows the killing of seven rhinos at a game farm near Sun City over the weekend, which brings the number of rhinos killed in the province to 21 in the past few weeks.

NW provincial spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said that the cruelty and brutality of rhino killing has gone too far.

He added that the need to clamp down on the issuing of illegal hunting permits as part of intensifying law enforcement and crime intelligence to overcome the scourge of rhino poaching.
