Opposition political parties have walked out of the National
Council of Provinces' Ad Hoc committee where a report on the Protection of
State Information Bill was supposed to be tabled today.
The opposition felt that they did not have sufficient time to study the report, because they only received it this morning.
Members of COPE, DA and ID were not satisfied with the suggested 15-minutes given to go through the report.
When the chairperson, Papi Tau, insisted that the meeting should go ahead, the opposition staged a unanimous walkout.
