Three men were rescued from a small boat that capsized at Kommetjie today.

National Sea Rescue Institute Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the exact details of the accident are not clear at this stage and the police are investigating.

Lambinon said two men were trapped under the upturned rubber-duck and one man had managed to swim free of the rubber-duck but he was still in difficulty in the water.

Lambinon further said they were treated for hypothermia, one of whom recovered and required no further treatment and the other one was transported to hospital by a CMR ambulance as he had also sustained a lower back injury, and one man was not injured.

He added that the man transported to hospital is expected to recover fully and he was in a stable condition.
