Minister for Women, Children and People with disabilities, Lulu Xingwana says victims of abuse should be encouraged to stand firm to enable the law to take its course against perpetrators.

She was speaking in Kimberley at the launch of the 16 Days of Activism against the Abuse of Women and Children.

Xingwana says victims should be discouraged from withdrawing charges.

Yesterday, Xingwana, together with hundreds of children embarked on a march, known as the children's walk, which aims to kick start the 16 days of activism against gender based violence campaigns.
