A study conducted by a consumer research company has shown that bulling is a cause for more concern than other factor at schools.

7 327 teachers, pupils and family members of pupils aged between 13 and 34 were polled to identify the biggest problems at their schools.

The results showed that the Western Cape was one of the provinces most likely to identify bullying as a major concern.

Provincial Department of Education Ministry Spokesperson Bronagh Casey says bullying happens in all levels and takes different forms.

Casey said teachers and learners are encouraged to intervene as soon as they are made aware of any form of bullying.

She adds that bullying needs to be taken serious in schools and homes.
