Yesterday, the Western Cape Human Settlements Department said that there have been no disruptions with the allocation of homes to beneficiaries of a housing project in Nyanga.

The first phase of the hot Boystown Housing Development has now been completed.

The development has been delayed several times due to infighting among community members.

Department spokesperson Bruce Oom said the final twenty residents of the first phase of 499 units moved into the Boystown Park in Nyanga.

“The project has had many difficulties to overcome, including community conflict; and thankfully these have been overcome.” Oom said.

“We are very happy that this stage has been reached, and that these 499 families of phase 1 will have their houses before Christmas” Oom added.
