No road deaths in WC over past 24 hours

The Western Cape Traffic Department held several roadblocks across the province.

A total of 1,139 vehicles were stopped 274 drivers were tested for alcohol.

15 people were arrested for drunken driving with the highest reading being 1,09 mg/l.

Two drivers were arrested for taxi issues.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said that the total amount of fines they issued was R91 500, and 19 388 vehicles were tested for speeding.

“1 424 drivers were prosecuted for exceeding the speed limit” Africa added.
