The North West African National Congress
Regional Secretary Obuti Chika in Dr Kenneth Kaunda District was gunned this
morning.
Chika was at his home in Alabama just outside
Klerksdorp during the attack.
The motive of the killing is not known at
this stage. Premier Thandi Modise has expressed shock at the killing.
Premier Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele
adds that they are condemning the killings and conveying their condolences to
the Chika family.
Premier Modise appealed for calm and called
on police not to leave any stone unturned until the responsible are brought to
book.
The Minister said that her thoughts and
prayers are with the Chika family and those around them should give them
support.
The Minister said that those heartless criminals
behind the campaign of terror that has nearly claimed the life of ANC provincial
secretary are desperate and should be put behind bars.
And that justice be found for comrades like
Chika.
