RTMC instructs police to be vigilant

The Road Traffic Management Corporation officers on Sunday,are  reported to have been instructed to arrest motorists who overtake other vehicles illegally as head on collisions are showing up in many major accidents.

The report revealed that over 765 people have been killed in accidents on the country's roads since the beginning of December.

Last year 1,771 people were killed as a result of 1,316 crashes over the festive season between December and early January.

The RTMC's Ashref Ismail said officials are on the lookout for traffic offenders.
