Three rescued from drowning on City beaches

The City of Cape Town today said
three people were rescued from drowning yesterday.
Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said an eight year-old boy Luyanda Skafungana of
Atlantis was rescued at Melkbosstrand.
In Table View 15-year-old, Waylin de Vos was rescued and transported by
ambulance to the SomersetHospital.
one-year-old, Nick Sumba found himself in distress at MuizenbergBeach yesterday
said all the patients were transported to various hospitals for observation and
further medical treatment.
Meanwhilethe City of Cape Town said the
20-year-old man who was rescued from drowning at HoutBay beach yesterday
however did not make it and died at GrooteSchuurHospital.
Spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said
attempts by the medical staff at the hospital, to completely resuscitate him
At the doctor on-duty
at the emergency trauma unit declared the patient from the Imizamo Yethu
Informal Settlement in HoutBay as deceased.
Solomons-Johannes said an autopsy would be
performed to determine the exact cause of death.
