Transport Minister hopes to reduce road deaths in WC

Transport Minister Ben Martins on Friday said he hopes the festive season road death toll can be reduced.

He spent his Friday morning interacting with commuters and public transport drivers at the Joe Gqabi Terminus in Philippi East. 

The minister said the responsibility to be safe on the road depends on all road users. 

Meanwhile almost 80 people have died on the Western Cape roads. 

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said he urged motorists to adhere to their call of road safety and not drive when they are not well rested.

“Please assist us, and cooperate and make sure you are well rested when you take on to the roads in the Western CapeAfrica said.
