A 98 year old woman was found murdered in her home in Tloung village outside Mahikeng over the weekend.

North West Premier Modise said perpetrators of violence against the vulnerable, particularly elderly women should have no place in society but be permanently removed.

Premier Thandi Modise Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele said that the Premier has called on intensified action against crime and the scourge of rape.

“When the elderly are living in fear of being raped by children old enough to be their grandchildren, society should stand up to say enough is enough” Kgwele said.

Kgwele said that the Premier called on community to assist the police in the investigations, adding that crime is eroding morals, and needs to be fought on all sides.
