ANC in the WC visits the victims of fire in Khayelitsha

Following a blaze that burnt shacks in Khayelitsha and Du Noon this morning, the African National Congress in the Western Cape plans to visit the affected areas.

ANC Provincial Chairperson Marius Fransman said it is so sad that on day whereby people should be celebrating life but there are people who have lost their belongings and loved ones.

Over a thousand people were left homeless when about 800 shacks burnt down; three people lost their lives and several others were injured.

Fransman called on all organisation to join them in offering assistance to the people of Khayelitsha and Du Noon.

The ANC officials are gathered at O R Tambo Hall in Mew Way.
