Car slams into tree killing one and leaving three injured

A female has died and three others sustained serious injuries after their vehicle slammed into a tree on the M41 in Umhlanga this morning.

Reports indicate that a B M W and a V W Polo collided the V W then veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the female front passenger trapped in the wreckage in a critical condition, the other patients were found at the side of the road.    

Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said after she was extricated paramedics transported her to a local hospital for the care that she required, tragically she died soon after arriving at the hospital.

Botha adds that the other patients were stabilized on scene and then transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
