Fisherman in critical condition after sustaining several gunshot wounds

A fisherman is fighting for his life after he sustained several gun shot wounds at the Winklespruit beach this morning.

Exact details to the events leading up to the shooting will remain subject to police investigation.

 Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said they raced out to a beach in the Winklespruit area near Amanzimtoti, where a man from the Umkomaas area went to go and fish and was shot.

Botha said he sustained some very serious gun shot wounds and upon Netcare 911’s arrival he was found lying on the beach in a critical condition.

 Botha adds that they stabilized him and then transported the man through to the Nkosi Albert Luthuli hospital for further treatment.
