Home Affairs Minister will visit shack fire victims

The Minister of Home Affairs, Naledi Pandor plans to visit shack fire victims in Khayelitsha on Friday.

Pandor will lead the Home Affairs team, which will be issuing out temporary Identity Documents to the victims at the O.R Tambo Hall, New Way.

Over 4,000 people were left homeless when fires burnt down their shacks on Tuesday morning in BM section.

Three people were reported dead and several others injured.

Minister Spokesperson Lunga Ngqengelele said other government departments will also be there, including Social Development Department which will assist with social relief once the Department of Home Affairs has provided the affected victims with their temporary IDs.
