1 dies and 19 injured in accident

19 people were injured, and one person died in an accident this morning.
A minibus taxi overturned on the N1 near
the Winelands region, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said.
Vermaak said when paramedics arrived at the
scene; they found the taxi with severe mechanical damage.
It is understood that due to the damage,
when the taxi overturned, the occupants were ejected from the vehicle Vermaak
said.
“The nineteen people were treated on the scene,
eleven of them sustaining minor injuries and the rest moderate; one person was
found with fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene” Vermaak added.
Vermaak said police were investigating the
circumstances surrounding the incident.
