Labour department investigates deadly Global Gasses explosion

The Department of Labour has started its formal investigation into the cause of the explosion which occurred at the Global Gasses compound in Contermanskloof.

The explosion which happened on the 13th of February has caused substantial damage to the plant and also left one person dead and two people injured. 

Department of Labour’s Candice van Reenen said that at the moment the cause of the explosion is not yet known, and specialists will be sent to the explosion sight.

"At the moment we cannot say how long the investigation will take, as there is still a number of suspects that need to be interviewed” van Reenen said.
