Mamphela Ramphele new political party Agang welcomed

Political Analysts are saying academic and activist Mamphela Ramphele formation of a new party is a welcomed development.

This follows the announcement earlier that Ramphele is forming her own political party called Agang meaning build.

Mzxolo Mpolase from Political Analysis said this increases the players in the political landscape in South Africa.

Mpolase said the challenge will be the lasting effective her party will have in the political landscape. 

Mpolase said it is good for Ramphele, whether or not it gains faction with the South African population is one thing.

Mpolase adds that Ramphele has credibility and now the interesting challenge is to see who Ramphele will now surround herself with, will she go with technocrats or will she go with activists that were involved in the UDF as she was, so these are the challenges moving on.

 

 Mpolase also adds that because branding, how you package the party, how you appeal to South African’s will be the most important thing moving forward.
