Man injured in accident in Diepsloot

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an accident which occurred in Diepsloot this morning.
A 35-year-old man was critically injured in the accident.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found a delivery vehicle collided with the barrier resulting in the driver being injured.
“The Netcare 1 helicopter was called in to airlift the man to the Steve Biko hospital to receive the urgent medical attention he required” Steinmann said.
Reports on the scene indicate the man was travelling on the R511 connected with the barrier and crashed into the N14 Bridge support pillars.
