Ministerial Spokesperson Mireille Wenger said it is time to reflect on causes and solutions and ask for partners toward sexual crimes.
The Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan
Plato today convened a meeting with government departments to discuss and deal
with sexual offences, assault and rape.
This follows the increase of fierce murders
and rapes of young girls in the province.
MEC Plato said a whole society approach is
needed to tackle sexual offences.
Ministerial Spokesperson Mireille Wenger said it is time to reflect on causes and solutions and ask for partners toward sexual crimes.
“The focus will be on short-, medium- and
long -term intervention, we will also be drawing in academics and civil society
for a “better together solution” Wegner said.
Wegner said citizens are asked to take
responsibility for society and for young girls.
