National Development Plan offers a long-term strategic plan

Today Minister in the Presidency Trevor Manuel and Collins Chabane briefed the media on government’s priorities and plans, set out the tone for delivery in the year ahead.

Trevor Manuel said the National Development Plan offers a long-term perspective.

Manuel added that the plan aims to ensure that all South Africans attain a decent standard of living through the elimination of poverty and reduction of inequality.

Manuel said the NDP and its proposals will need to be implemented in the right order over the next 17 years.

Minister Manuel added that the importance of the NDP is that it offers the presidency a perspective to 2030 it’s a destination that allows us to bring in different role players in society and it needs a government leadership.

Manuel furthermore adds that president Zuma in his State of the Nation Address touched on one every important part which is shape the perspectives of the national planning commission and that Manuel adds relates to what the presidency has defined as a decent standard of  living.
