The North West Premier Thandi Modise called on leaders in her province to unite and work together for development and the benefit of communities.
Premier Modise made the call during her State of the Province Address delivered in the provincial legislature on Friday.
“This session, more than just an annual ritual, reminds us that regardless of how much or less we feel about each other, however how much we may detest the sound of each other’s voice. We remain the advance team upon whose shoulders lies the future of the people of this province,” Modise reminded members of the legislature and the packed public gallery” Said Modise.
Opposition parties remain unconvinced and say the speech was a revised version of what was said in previous years.

The Premier appealed to leaders across the political divide to rise above the subjective opinions they hold about the development of the province and unite themselves behind the unifying elements without which the province would remain in a regressive mode.
Modise also called for stability in the mining sector.
