Over 19 681 farming community beneficiaries
in the North West Province were supported through a job creation plan for agriculture over the past financial year,
Premier Thandi Modise said in the State of the Province address in Mahikeng on
Friday.
Premier Modise added that 1 502 jobs were
created in agriculture during the implementation of 401 projects across the
province.

other jobs were created through the expanded public works programme and 1732 through
the home based care extended public works programme.
Kgwele adds that programmes that alleviate poverty
benefited 40 233 beneficiaries who received food parcels, school uniforms,
cooked meals and supplements and 25 community home based care centres were to funded
to reduce the impact of HIV and AIDS in communities.
