Cosatu want Public Protector to investigate CASIDRA

The Congress of South African Trade Union has called on the Public Protector to investigate the Democratic Alliance use of public funds to promote fraud land reforms. 

Cosatu’s said the DA has moved more than R130 million to Cape Agency for Sustainable Integrated Development in Rural Areas from the Department of Agriculture. 

Cosatu’s Tony Ehreinch said that the section of money that farmworkers get from the public funds is given to the farmers under the illusion that workers that workers are given control in the business.

“Cosatu believes this completely is inappropriate and a misuse of public funds; we believe that this comes about because the MEC for Agriculture in the Western Cape is a farmer himself and his friends stand to benefit from this” Ehrenreich added.

Ehrenreich also said that the reason they want the Public Protector to investigated the matter is because so that credible land reform is created.
