The Creative Workers Union of South Africa has welcomed the resignations of six board members of the SABC board.

The Union said the former board members have done an honorable thing by stepping down and allowing a new search for an interim board.

Meanwhile in parliament on Tuesday, it emerged that yet another board member had resigned, leaving only two board members.

Acting General Secretary of the Creative Workers Union Eugene Mthethwa said they welcome the resignation because it will give them opportunity to see a new board, being elected that will replace the current one.

“We hope that it would be a best move for the channel to move forward we appreciate what Mr Hlaudi Moetwaneng has been doing and we support his move in terms of improving the conditions around SABC,” added Mthethwa
