The Western Cape Traffic Department
on Friday night, held 12 roadblocks across the province.
A total of 1 019 care were
stoped and 536 drivers tested for alcohol and 7 drivers were arrested for drunk
driving.

Africa said that a total amount of fines that were handed out were R74 200,
and 16 926 vehicles were tested for speeding.
“1 250 drivers were prosecuted
for exceeding the speed limit, and the highest speed recorded was 164 km/h in a
120 km/h zone” Africa said.
