The Democratic Alliance’s Shadow Minister of Communications, Marian Shinn, said that the cause of the SABC’s continuous crisis is political interference.

This comes after 6 board members resigned, including the board Chairperson Dr Ben Ngubane and his Deputy Thami Ka Plaatjie.

Shinn said the appointments of both the board and executive management had political motives.

She further said that South Africans who may want to contribute to the formation of a vibrant, world class public broadcaster are now scatted.

Shinn added that one of the former board members alleged that the Communications Minister Dina Pule had been interfering in the running of the SABC which has led to the resignations.
