Premier condemns the Ventersdorp farm murder

A 67 year old farmer was brutally murder and his wife assaulted on Sunday in their farm outside Ventersdorp.

North West Premier Thandi Modise has expressed shock and condemned in the strongest terms the killing.

Modise urged police to intensify their effort to work closely with the farming community to prevent farm attacks and speedily arrest those responsible for the violent attack.

Premier Modise`s Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele said the Premier perpetrators of violence against the farming community particularly the vulnerable elderly should have no place in the society.

Meanwhile North West Police have confirmed that they have arrested a 22 year old man in connection with the murder.

Police Spokesperson Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the man was arrested on Sunday night and he will appear at the Ventersdorp Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
