The African Christian Democratic
Party today said it is optimistic about South Africa’s progress in the fight
against HIV but cautiously so in the case of TB.
Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe
announced that a new campaign will be launched this year to encourage South
Africans to test for HIV at least once a year.
ACDP’s MP Cheryllyn Dudley said they
are extremely pleased that over the past two years, the mother to child HIV
transmission has decreased.
She added that there is a need for
people to ensure that they complete their TB treatment and only in that way the
TB would be fought successfully.
