The African Christian Democratic Party has sent condolences to the family and friends who lost loved ones as a result of an earthquake in Iran.

At least 40 people were killed by the major earthquake near the Iran-Pakistan border.

The quake struck less than a week after a 6.1 magnitude quake hit near Bushehr, leaving 37 people dead.

ACDP Leader Rev Kenneth Meshoe said that as the ACDP they wish to convey their condolences to all the families who lost their loved ones in the earthquake that hit Iran.

Meshoe added that the ACDP also wishes those who have been injured as a result of the earthquake a speedy recovery and trust that they all will be stronger to rebuild their country.
